What is the difference between Char Dham and Do Dham Yatra?

The Char Dham Yatra covers all four sacred shrines: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath over 5 nights and 6 days. The Do Dham Yatra covers Kedarnath and Badrinath over 3 nights and 4 days. Both packages start and end in Dehradun.

How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least three to four weeks in advance. May and June are the busiest months and slots fill up quickly during this period.

Is the helicopter yatra suitable for senior citizens?

Yes. The helicopter yatra is specifically designed to make the pilgrimage accessible for elderly devotees. Palki and pony services are arranged at Yamunotri, shuttle helicopters handle the Kedarnath leg, and our ground team provides assistance at every stop.

What is the luggage limit?

The Char Dham package allows 5 kg per person, and the Do Dham package allows 2 kg per person. Duffel bags are provided during the tour briefing in Dehradun. Larger luggage can be left in Dehradun.

What is included in the package?

Both packages include helicopter transfers from Dehradun, hotel accommodation with meals at each dham, VIP darshan at every temple, shuttle helicopter at Kedarnath, palki at Yamunotri (Char Dham only), airport pickup and drop in Dehradun, and on ground assistance throughout. Personal expenses, donations, and anything not mentioned in inclusions are not covered.

What documents do I need to carry?

Carry a valid government issued photo ID such as Aadhaar, passport, or PAN card. Char Dham Yatra registration on the Uttarakhand government portal is mandatory and must be completed before the yatra.

What happens if a flight is delayed due to weather?

Mountain weather can change quickly. If conditions are not suitable for flying, flights are held until it is safe to proceed. We recommend keeping a buffer day at the end of your schedule in case of weather related adjustments.

When are the Char Dham temples open?

The temples generally open in late April or early May and close in mid November. Exact dates are announced each year by the temple committees.

What should I wear and carry?

Carry warm and waterproof clothing as the shrines are located between 3,000 and 3,500 metres above sea level. Waterproof trekking shoes, a light rain jacket, a warm cap, and gloves are recommended. Avoid wearing slippery footwear.

Can I choose to do only Kedarnath or only Badrinath?

Chardham Yatra By Helicopter

The Char Dham Yatra by helicopter is a 5 night, 6 day pilgrimage from Dehradun covering the four sacred shrines of Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath in the Uttarakhand Himalayas. The yatra starts and ends at Sahastradhara Helipad in Dehradun, with helicopter transfers between each dham, hotel stays with meals at every stop, VIP darshan at all four temples, and dedicated ground staff to assist you throughout the journey. Everything from airport pickup to palki service at Yamunotri to the shuttle helicopter at Kedarnath is taken care of, so you can focus entirely on your darshan.

Day 1: Arrival in Dehradun

Our team picks you up from Dehradun airport and transfers you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to rest and settle in. In the evening at 6 pm, you attend a mandatory tour briefing where our team explains the full Chardham yatra by Helicopter itinerary, shares safety guidelines, provides duffel bags (5 kg luggage limit per person), and records each passenger's body weight for helicopter allocation. Dinner and overnight stay in Dehradun.

Day 2: Dehradun to Yamunotri

Your Char Dham Yatra begins with a helicopter flight from Sahastradhara Helipad to Kharsali Helipad near Yamunotri. On arrival, our ground team receives you and assists with hotel check in. The Yamunotri temple is 6 km from the helipad, and palki or pony service is arranged for the journey to the shrine and back. The round trip by palki takes approximately 5 hours. At the temple, you can take darshan of Goddess Yamuna and visit Surya Kund, the natural hot water spring where devotees cook rice and take it home as prasad. After darshan, return to your hotel in Kharsali. Dinner and overnight stay in Kharsali.

Day 3: Yamunotri to Gangotri

After breakfast, fly from Kharsali Helipad to Harsil Helipad near Gangotri. From Harsil, a car takes you to the Gangotri temple, the origin of the sacred River Ganga. After VIP darshan, you are free to explore the surroundings. In the evening, you can take a walk through the nearby villages and discover handmade woolen items crafted by local artisans. Return to your hotel in Harsil. Dinner and overnight stay near Gangotri.

Day 4: Gangotri to Kedarnath

After breakfast, fly from Harsil Helipad to Guptkashi or Sersi. From there, you are transferred to the Kedarnath temple helipad by a connecting helicopter ride. The temple is approximately 500 metres from the helipad, a short walk. Kedarnath sits at an altitude of 3,583 metres and is home to one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. After VIP darshan, return by the same route to the base. Dinner and overnight stay in Sersi, Phata, or Guptkashi.

Day 5: Kedarnath to Badrinath

After breakfast, fly from the base helipad to Badrinath Helipad. On arrival, our ground team assists with hotel check in. A car transfer takes you to the Badrinath temple, one of the four original Char Dhams established by Adi Shankaracharya. After VIP darshan, you have the option to visit Mana Village, the last inhabited village on the Indian side of the border with China, at an additional cost. Dinner and overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 6: Badrinath to Dehradun

After breakfast, board your helicopter for the return flight to Dehradun. On arrival at Sahastradhara Helipad, our team transfers you to Dehradun airport for your onward journey.
